Back Home Again

We got home from our trip to Europe last night and at four this morning, I was up and ready to start my day! ;-)   I have a feeling it’s going to take a couple of days to get back on Cincinnati time!

I love to travel, and I have to say that this trip was one of my favorites. I loved exploring so many countries I knew very little about. My husband and I chatted with just about everyone, everywhere~from the waiters at a cafe in Stockholm to some folks we met from Peru, to the darling tour guide in St. Petersburg who couldn’t have been much older than 20 years old.  We were charmed by the folks in Copenhagen who commuted to work by bicycle, and by the proud Estonians who showed us a charch that escaped bombing in WWII.  I fell in love with the beautiful countryside in Germany…and counted dachshunds in a small town there—10 wiener dog sightings in 1 hour! So fun!

We ate our way through the Baltic, too! Though I was far less adventurous than my husband, we tried all kinds of local dishes. It’s definitely time for some plain grilled fish and chicken and salad!

Because I have a book due on September 1, I tried to write 5 pages every day. We had a balcony, so just about every afternoon I would take my laptop outside and write for about an hour or two. It was a little strange, writing about the Amish while gazing at the coast of Finland, but I got used to that! <g>

We took lots of photos, but they’re currently on the camera and I’ve got to get my husband’s help downloading them on my computer.

So until then, here’s a photo that our kennel sent us of Rudy, in front of the Olympic flag. Yes, the puppy went to doggy day camp everyday. I’m going to pick the dogs up in a few hours…can’t wait!

I agree with Casey. It does sound like a great trip. Did the people you talked to speak English?
