It’s always such a thrill to see the first cover of a new series. I feel really lucky to get to have a little input into the covers. My editor usually asks me if I have any ideas in mind for the general feel of the covers. After I offer some suggestions, the editors meet with the art and marketing department, armed with a blurb about the books. Weeks later, I get see what they come up with. For this cover, the editors and art department worked on different versions of the horizon. Sun? No sun? They also created different versions of the title and my name. Below is the current ‘perfect’ cover. I think it’s beautiful! I especially love the three women on the cover~this Day of Reckoning Series is all about three generations of the Kiem Family of Berlin, OH. What do y’all think? (PS…Daybreak will be published spring of 2013)
