I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!

My husband and I returned home last night from our little getaway to Louisville. We stayed downtown, visited the Louisville Slugger Museum and even ordered a bat for my husband. <g> On Saturday night we went to the Louisville Bats baseball game and had a great time. The stadium was almost full, there were lots of kids, and the Bats won! After the game, the city of Louisville had their fireworks display on the river. We stayed in our seats and loved every minute of it!

On Sunday, we took a trip over to Indiana, to French Lick. It’s home to two absolutely beautiful hotels, both built about 100 years ago. We toured them both, ate ice cream, and then decided we would rather be home than in a hotel so we came back a day early.

We heard from our kids, too, by way of a short text.  ‘It’s sunny and pretty in Paris. Please check our credit card balances’. Yep, that was it!  I couldn’t help but laugh.

Today it’s been back to work for me, I received revisions for The Caretaker last Thursday.

Please let me know how your holiday was. Did you barbecue? Have family over? Sleep in?

Shelley,
that is great that you got the revisions for The Caretaker. Hope all is going well with that.

Glad to hear you had a great time away from home. We are super excited to be going to Disney World with Bella on her Make a wish trip. It will be a nice family time. No BBQ-ing here..LOL Decided it was time for just the four of us as a family and no parties this year.
We attempted to take the kids fishing Sunday but, we got there and john had an incident with his fishing Knife and we spent 4 hours in the E.R.
That was our crazy fourth..LOL

Hope everyone had a GREAT 4th of July!!!

Shannon, isn’t it always like that? During the most relaxing holidays, something almost always goes wrong. I hope John is okay!

I would be super excited about Disney World, too! I hope she’ll get to dress up as a princess! I was such a girly-girl…that was right up my alley.

By the way, I’ll write you privately too, but I just sent you a box for your auction on Tuesday. Hopefully it will get to you very soon.

Hi Shelley

One week later and here is my response. Every year my cousin’s wife and her sister have a big family get-to-gather. My daughter, her husband and I are always included although it is my cousin’s wife’s family. They cook hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. Everyone brings covered dishes to share. and in the afternoon and again in the evening they make homemeade icecream. Yummy!! Everyone has a great time visiting but it always seems to work out that there is the group that sits outside and the other group that stays inside in the airconditing. I stay in the air conditioning. And some years they have it at one of the kid’s homes in town so that everyone can watch the fireworks. It is a great day.
