For the last week, I’ve been desperately trying to finish The Caregiver (book 1 of my new Family of Honor series). Each morning I think Today Is The Day I Will Finally Press SEND … and then the hours pass while I keep adding just one more thing. <g>

But in the midst of all this, I did read a terrific blurb about Autumn’s Promise. So, here it is below…for those of you who are curious about the book….

Until Robert Miller met Lilly Allen, his world had been dark. A widower after only two years of marriage, he’s been living in a haze, filled with grief. He feels his life is already over-even though he’s only twenty-five.

But his friendship with Lilly changes everything. For the first time since he can remember, he finds new reasons to wake up each day. Soon, he knows he’s falling in love with Lilly. However, he also knows a marriage between the two of them can never happen. Lilly Allen is only eighteen. She had become pregnant out of wedlock. And, she’s an Englisher. He, of course, is Amish.

Lilly also feels a strong attraction to Robert. She admires his quiet strength and dependability. She’s also in awe of his devotion to his wife’s memory. Lilly knows she could never measure up to his perfect Amish wife. She also comes to realize that no matter how much she might love a person, she can’t change who she is. She loves Robert-not the Amish faith. No matter how much she loves him.she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be able to give up her independence and reliance on the modern world in order to say vows.

Coming from different worlds, does their love stand a chance?

Hi Shelley! Autumn’s Promise sounds so good. I can’t wait for it to come out! Do you know if you will be signing books in Sugar Creek again this year? I’m trying to plan a “girl trip” so that some of my family can meet you too. They are big fans as well! I loved Winter’s Awakening and Spring’s Renewal by the way! Keri

Hi Keri!

I’m so glad you liked winter and spring. : )
As a matter of fact, I’m already planning to come to Sugarcreek in October. I need to double check a couple of dates-I’m going to a conference and signing books in Indianapolis in Oct…and then there’s my daughter’s homecoming dance. But, if all goes well, I hope to be back at the Gospel Shop in Sugarcreek during their Swiss festival.

sorry for all the info..probably more than you wanted to know! As soon as I know the dates for sure, I’ll post them.

I hope it works out that you can come with for your girl trip!

Shelley,
That would be a perfect time for us. My mom’s birthday is in October, we all love the fall time, and we’ll get to pick up a signed copy of Grace! I will be watching for the book signing dates. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to your fans! God bless you!

Shelley,
I loved Winter’s Awkening, and Spring Renewal. I also like the way you started the series with the story of Lilly Allen and that her love story will happen in Autumn’s Promise. Do you ever plan on doing anymore contest like you did for the book Winter’s Awakening?

Shelley says:

Keri, I bet October will be here before we know it! I’ll look forward to meeting your friends and family!

Hope you are having a good June with your girls. : )

Shelley says:

Hi Pam! I’m so glad you are liking Lilly’s character. I’d always planned to make her the heroine of Autumn’s Promise, but she really end up having a life of her own! Her romance is the most romantic of all my books.

I’m very excited for readers to let me know what they think of Autumn’s Promise, so yes, I do plan to run another contest. I won’t begin it until I have my copies of Autumn…that should be sometime in July.

Pam, I’ll make sure I give everyone plenty of notice~here on my site and on Facebook.

Thanks for asking!
