Snowy Monday

Like much of the country, we’ve had lots of snow and it’s been bitterly cold outside. I haven’t minded it too much, though. We moved to a new house last May, and our new home has a creek and woods in the backyard. After looking into all my neighbors’ backyards for ten years, I’m really enjoying our new view. Lots of deer have been wandering through…two even curled up and took naps last Thursday! Cardinals have been enjoying the bird feeders, too. I just love looking for cardinals- I seem to catch myself staring outside all the time now.

When I’m not watching deer, I’ve been cooking. Last night I made cream of broccoli soup and strawberry shortcake. No, neither was especially low-fat, but they were reasonably healthy. : ) Okay, more healthy than the things I usually make. Tonight we’re ordering Chinese food, though. I can’t wait.

I’ve also been working hard on GRACE. I’m hoping to get as far as I can on it before I get my revisions for Autumn’s Promise.

And, of course, I’ve been very excited about Winter’s Awakening! My husband Tom went to the post office for me on Friday and sent out twenty-two packets. I can’t wait for people to start receiving their books! I just learned on Friday that my publisher, Harper One, is planning to give out free books to librarians at their winter convention. That is very exciting for me. : )

I’ll look forward to writing again in a few days. Until then, I hope everyone has a good Monday!

What has everyone else been doing during their snowy days?

Unfortunately I still have to drive in to work – clear roads or not :-(
I love cardinals in winter – there is something about the bright red of the males that looks so serene against the winter white.
About the soup – broccoli is healthy. LOL.
Enjoy your writing time!

Congrats on Winters Awakening. I have been waiting for this one. I love you books. I live in NC, we’d some flurry but nothing to brag about, but it has been COLD. As I am retired due to disablitiy(Spinal Fusion), I don’t have to get out in the cold. Stay harm and safe. Blessings.

I’ve been thinking of you this week…glad everything around here is thawing out! Hope you’ve been having a good week at work.

Shelley says:

Hi April!

Yes, the cold weather has been tough, with or without the snow. I hope you will enjoy Winter’s Awakening. Let me know what you thought!

Marcie says:

Aww, thanks Shelley!
I just received your new HAR in the mail!!

Shelley says:

Marcie, that’s so sweet of you! Thank you! I hope you like that book…it’s part of a pair set in Destin. The next book comes out in June.
