The release of Winter’s Awakening, Book 1 of my Seasons in Sugarcreek series, is now just a month away! I’m very excited about this new series. It’s a bit different from the Sister’s of of the Heart books. The books are a little longer and feature multiple story lines.
All feature characters from two families who live next door to each other, the Grabers and the Allens.
The Grabers are Amish and own a store in Sugarcreek. They’ve lived in Sugarcreek for generations and the parents, Elsa and Frank Graber, are doing their best to raise their seven children. In contrast, the Allens are English and brand new to Sugarcreek and small town life. Scott and Barb Allen have three children and are typical ’suburban’ parents. Their lives revolve around school sports and other community activities.
From the time I started thinking about these books, I knew there was going to be a wealth of story ideas. After all, the Grabers and Allens had so much in common. It’s not easy to raise children these days…no matter who you are. : ) As the series continues, the two families form a strong bond with each other. However, that bond doesn’t come easily. They must overcome some serious obstacles, too. Winter’s Awakening features a snowstorm. Spring’s Renewal takes place during a flood. And then, of course, there’s a few secrets that various members of each family have been hiding…
As I write this, I’m thrilled to say that all three books are written and are in various stages in the publishing process. I hope you’ll join me as I count down the days until Winter’s Awakening hits the shelves. All month, I’ll be sharing reviews and thoughts about Winter. If you have time, please stop by again soon!
