On the Road Again…

On Tuesday, we headed up to Cleveland for a quick one night stay. We stayed downtown at the lovely Renaissance hotel, and met my sister in law and her husband Tim for a night out. This has become a yearly event, and both times we’ve gone to Lola, a restaurant by Iron Chef Michael Symon. If cooking shows aren’t your thing, this probably doesn’t mean much to you. But if you’re like me, then you might feel that going to an Iron Chef’s restaurant is a special treat.  My favorite dish was dessert, of course. I had some kind of candy bar, chocolate mouse and dolce de leche ice cream combo. Yes, I shared it with the three other people at our table, but I secretly would have been perfectly happy to have the whole thing to myself!

After dinner, we checked out Cleveland’s new Horseshoe Casino. No, we didn’t win big, but we still had a good time.  

Yesterday, we saw my husband’s cousin and mom, and some family friends, then headed home, just in time to enjoy the fireworks that our town put on…right from our front lawn.  Heaven!

Next week, we’ll be heading north again, this time for two book signings! They’ll be my last ones until September. One is the Stark County District Library, and the other is the Sparrow Christian Bookshop. One is a library, one is an independent Christian bookstore.    Shelley,
   Now if we still lived in Akron, OH – I would come see you like we did when you were in FL.
   Hope it goes good for you at both places.
   Glad you/hubby got away for a night in the big city.
   Keep those books coming. Still looking for The Search. Our Wal-Mart doesn’t have it yet.
