This and That

Posted Nov 17 2010, 6:21 am

It’s time for a Wednesday morning catch-up….

* Thanks to my very lovely and talented website designer, I now have GRACE bookmarks.  If you’d like one, please send me a private email with your address, and I’ll send you a signed bookmark.

* I’ve been talking and talking on the radio! Some are live, others are taped. It’s been fun talking about GRACE.

* Thank you and thank you again to everyone who’s taken the time to write a review of GRACE.  For a lot of people, GRACE is the first ‘shelley shepard gray’ book they’ve ever picked up. I know a lot of people are giving it a try because of your positive notes.

* Finally, my Bookpage is better organized, and will soon list all 3 Texas books and the publication dates of some of the Families of Honor books.

*And speaking of my new series…I have a cover to share!!  From the moment I saw The Caregiver cover, I was thrilled. It’s beautiful!

* Finally, I’d love to hear what everyone’s doing for Thanksgiving. It will be quiet here…I cooked a turkey last month when my son came home.  So, please brighten my day with your Thanksgiving plans!

with blessings,

shelley

Mark, our youngest, is driving Michele’s car home from Charleston. It broke down while we were there the last time. Lindsay, is going to Tennessee to be with her fiancée. So, we will have the two boys and ourselves going to our nieces new home. We, the entire family will be their. It will be nice, but I liked being in Doylestown more. We would walk into town after dinner, before dessert. Doylestown, is ‘artsy’. The most important part will be knowing all of my family will be somewhere safe! For this, I will be thankful for. It is always good to chat with you.
    with all my best,

Will, whenever I read your notes, I have hope that the days of staying connected with my kids isn’t over! Your holiday sounds fun. I hope you will have time to relax a bit, too! Happy Thanksgiving!

You’re missing your son, I know. I’m missing my daughter. The days of staying connected to your kids are not over. Set a place for him. When we were in service when we were young, my father would leave the christmas tree up until feb. until my brother got home. Set a special place, he’s just late. 🙂 !

I love the caregiver cover!!! So excited for the next book!!!!

    • Shelley says:

Thanks, Brittany! For some reason, I managed to chop off the very top and bottom of the cover. But if you look on Amazon.com, you’ll see the whole thing.

I hope you’ll take a few days off from those on-line classes and enjoy your Thanksgiving!

The cover for The Caregiver is very nice.

Being a nurse in a hospital means that I have to work some of the holidays. But Thanksgiving is one of my holidays off this year. 🙂 And since I work 7PM to 7AM my holiday is actually considered the eve of instead of the night of the holiday. This year I am off both nghts. another :).

I am planning to spend the day with my daughter and son-in-law at their home. She is planning to fix a turkey, stuffing, and noodles. So far she hasn’t said what she wants me to bring.

They usually have 3 or 4 places they need to be for holidays and decided to just have a quiet day at home this time and watch tv.

Jeanette! Hooray for a few days off! My sister-in-law is a doctor, and I’m so amazed at the juggling she has to do over any holiday.

I hope you have a wonderful day with your daughter! I’m already looking forward to Christmas movies…

  4. Brenda Munro says:

This is the first year without our mother, so the holidays will be rather sad this year. However, we’ll go to my sisters house and instead of a house full of people (normally 14) like we normally have, there will just be 4 or 5 of us. But the turkey tradition continues, with dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied yams, the perverbial green bean casserole, home made rolls, pumpkin and pecan pie.

I’ve read all of your books up to this point, and can not wait for the new ones to come out. Love The Caregiver cover as well.

    Blessings to each of you….
    Brenda

      Brenda,

I’m so sorry about your mother. Those ‘first’ holidays without a loved one are hard, I think.

Your dinner sounds like our usual one. Yay! for those green beans. I love yams and my husband does too, but no matter how hard I tried, our kids still won’t touch them. One day, maybe…

Thank you for reading my books. And thanks, too, for the note! Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Nancy Waldemer says:

Last year we cooked the Dinner and took it to Mom & Dads. They were surprised, But you know Mothers, she felt bad for not doing anything. So this year, she is cooking the turkey and dressing and we will bring the rest.

  6. Shelley says:

Nancy, I hope you had a wonderful day with your family!
